AdvaMat Ltd. is a company born on Czech academic soil. In 2009, a research group was established at the CTU under the leadership of Professor Tomáš Polcar, which five years later transformed into the company AdvaMat s.r.o. Today, AdvaMat is at the forefront of offering innovative PVD and DLC technologies for companies addressing challenges in friction, tool life and functional surface properties. At AdvaMat, we specialize in demanding applications and optimizing coatings for maximum performance, positioning us as a premium provider with global reach. At AdvaMat Ltd. we specialize in the development and application of PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coatings. Our mission is not only to bring significant savings to manufacturing companies, but also to optimize their production processes through our unique solutions based on the latest scientific knowledge. We offer coatings that define new standards for durability, performance, wear and corrosion resistance, all with minimal environmental impact.
Meet Our Team
Prof. Tomáš Polcar, PhD.
Founder
Professor at CTU and at the University of Southampton in the UK. His research focuses on thin coatings prepared by magnetron sputtering, tribology and the development of new nanostructured alloys. He has been awarded a number of international and national projects.
Ing. Martin Daněk, PhD.
Managing Director
He graduated in Instrumentation and Control Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Czech Technical University. He completed his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in the field of Advanced Materials. He speaks seven languages and lived abroad for several years.
Ing. Tomáš Vítů, PhD.
Research Scientist
He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Czech Technical University, focusing on tribology of hard wear-resistant and self-lubricating coatings. He publishes scientific papers. He teaches physics at the Department of Applied Mathematics, Faculty of Transportation, CTU.
Ing. Martina Adlerová
Project Manager
She studied Management and Information Technology at the University of Economics in Prague. She worked in CT24, then as a lecturer in technical education. She is a freelance graphic designer and photographer.
Ing. Matěj Buřil
Plasma Process Engineer
He studied materials engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Czech Technical University. During his doctoral studies he is working on the topic of tribological layers. He has many years of experience with magnetron sputtering.
Ing. Pavla Daňková
Biomedical Engineer
She graduated in Instruments and Methods for Biomedicine at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, CTU. She has completed internships in Berlin in the field of magnetic resonance. She is a lecturer of group fitness classes.
